About the Library
The mission of the KMFRI Libraries is to create and sustain an evolving information environment that advances learning, research, and innovation at KMFRI. We are committed to excellence in services, and systems that promote discovery, preserve knowledge, and improve worldwide scholarly communication.
KMFRI library resources are accessed onsite and online.
Circulation Services: Borrowing, renewing, holding, recalling, returning library materials.
Document Delivery Services (DDS): Documents Delivered retrieves copyright-compliant documents from our global library network. With access to diverse publications, we deliver the journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings you need.
Find Articles Using Databases: Use online databases to find Full-text articles in journals, newspapers, and magazines (periodicals).
News & Newspapers: News and newspaper collections.
Government Information: KMFRI library collects government information in all formats and from many government agencies. Government publications and information are multidisciplinary in subject. They are important primary resources for legislative, and regulatory information, policy analysis, statistical reports and data, scientific and technical information and much more. Most government publications are included in the library's Catalog.
E-Journals
The KMFRI Library subscribes to over 800 peer reviewed full text electronic journals to support learning and research activities of the Institute. Articles that are not available in full text from the listed databases can be ordered through the Library Document Delivery Services (DDS) upon request to the library.
Institutional Repository
In order to provide scientific data and information for sustainable exploitation, management and conservation of Kenya's fisheries and other aquatic resources, and contribute to National strategies of food security, poverty alleviation, clean environment and creation of employment as provided for under Vision 2030. The Institutional Repository Provides access to digital collections and innovative scholarly services in support of research in marine and fresh water within Kenya.
OceanDocs
OceanDocs is an e-repository (electronic repository) of scientific publications related to marine science and oceanography. The IODE OceanDocs is the Central repository of a global network of national and regional repositories.
UN Document
International organization publications and information are collected extensively from the United Nations, FAO, OECD, IMF and other organizations.
